How to Lose 60 Pounds in 6 Weeks

Losing 60 pounds in six weeks is difficult. It amounts to losing 10 pounds a week, or 1.4 pounds a day. Still, you can try. Even if you won't manage to lose all 60 pounds, you will still probably make a healthy reduction in your weight. To lose a significant amount of weight, you need persistence and determination. You really will have to give up some of the food you are used to. And, yes, you must dramatically change your way of life.

    Define your strategy for weight reduction. Come up with a list of ideas of how to reduce weight. Then choose the ones that you think you'll be able to manage. Draw a plan of how much weight you have to reduce each week (about 10 pounds) and how you'll be able to achieve it.

    Seek support and encouragement from your friends and relatives. A good idea here is to find a coach, a person who will help you with the discipline of sticking to your weight-reduction strategy. Meet with your coach regularly to discuss your progress.

    Choose the diet that you feel comfortable with. Eating close to nothing may not be an option for you, particularly if you have to do a lot of work during the day. Still, you can cut your calorie intake by changing the kind of food you consume. Cut fats and hydrocarbons and eat more fruits and vegetables. In addition, try to cut out sugar as much as possible. If you find drinking coffee without sugar difficult, substitute a cup of good English tea.

    Exercise regularly, preferably every day. Choose exercises designed primarily for cardiovascular system rather than for gaining strength. Those include jogging, swimming, cycling, aerobics, cross country skiing, skating and playing tennis.

    Find like-minded people on the Internet. There are weight-reduction groups on most social networks. Membership is free and you can get many useful tips and moral encouragement from the members of such clubs.
